Since 2019, TG Federal has been a strategic partner to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Mobile Assets Program Management Office (MAPMO). MAPMO manages a fleet of over 20,000 vehicles (such as cars, boats, and other equipment used for border security and enforcement activities) deployed across the U.S. and internationally. MAPMO aims to enhance operational efficiency, ensure proper maintenance and deployment of assets, and support the overall mission of CBP in safeguarding U.S. borders.

In collaboration with our prime partner, our team of CBP badged IT consultants support the vehicle telematics initiative through project management, client communications, briefing leadership, business writing, data analytics, and Excel modeling. Our team’s support includes CBP fleet electrification efforts, data analytics, management of vehicle telematics, performance management reporting, acquisition automation, vehicle utilization analytics, strategic communications, establishing and tracking KPIs, and liaising with select CBP Offices.

The Challenge

The challenge was twofold: providing team members with the requisite security clearances and understanding of their systems and operating procedures and aligning their expertise with a constrained budget.

TG Federal employed a strategic approach to solving the challenge by leveraging our expertise in security clearance reciprocity. By tapping into our extensive network, we accessed a diverse pool of consultants with the necessary clearances, even those from varied sectors and backgrounds. This strategic approach enabled our diverse team to meet the project constraints and match demand to hit deadlines.

The Results

Since June 2020, TG Federal has successfully integrated 30 consultants into the project, constituting approximately 10% of the workforce. This significant contribution has played a crucial role in the successful execution of the contract and in meeting DHS’s strategic objectives.
